Immediate MNPS District-Wide Volunteer Opportunities December 2020

Safety Requirements: To keep our staff, students, and families safe, everyone in attendance must wear a mask and maintain social distance. 

Please track your volunteerism hours after each opportunity.


NAZA After School Programming 

Description: Nashville After Zone Alliance (NAZA) is looking to expand their after school programming services to students in MNPS. United4Hope is collaborating with NAZA and MNPS to develop a matching program for churches who are interested in providing building spaces for existing afterschool providers to conduct programming as school buildings are currently closed to afterschool programs. Your organization does not have to be a licensed childcare provider to participate in the matching program.

Duties: Provide church facility space for NAZA after school program providers to conduct programming.

Dates: January 5 to end of school year or when program providers are allowed back into schools.

Locations: Providers are looking for locations in 37207, 37206, 37115, 37214, 37013, 37208, 37209, 37138, and 37076.

MNPS Food Box Distribution Sites 

Description: Since the first week of March, MNPS has provided food boxes to families in need. They need our help to continue to support families during this unprecedented time.

Duties: Unload the delivery truck of food at each school site, assemble boxes, pack boxes with food items for families, load boxes into family cars 

Dates: Wednesdays through December 30; times vary by location

Locations: Antioch High, Cole Elementary, Glencliff High, Haywood Elementary, Hillwood High, JE Moss Elementary, Jere Baxter Middle, McGavock High, Napier Elementary, and Pearl-Cohn/Westwood Baptist Church
