COVID-19 Response | March 2020

During these very difficult times, we as The Church are called to support our communities. Thank you to all who served as beacons of light during the aftermath of the tornado. We again have an opportunity to support our families and children in Metro Nashville Public Schools during our city’s response to COVID-19 as schools are closed at least through April 3. We have been working closely with Central Office staff to understand where support is most needed. Below are the current opportunities. We encourage you to participate as you feel comfortable while still following the latest CDC and government guidelines.

Metro Schools is seeking to identify child care programs accessible to families during the extended school closures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  Specifically, they would like to communicate to families about any organizations that are licensed and providing drop in child care services daily.  With the ever evolving COVID-19 impact, we recognize that we have many families who are working to provide essential services that need our help.   If you are offering drop in care or have an interest in offering child care services, please complete the following form at this link:http://bit.ly/ProvideChildcare

Questions? Please reach out to Jennifer Bell, Director of MNPS Extended Learning Programs, at jennifer.bell@mnps.org.

MNPS is also providing meals for families to address food security needs. Volunteer efforts are being coordinated by Second Harvest Food Bank. You can read more about the meal services and volunteer opportunities here: https://www.mnps.org/covid19
